“You should never put on your skin what you wouldn’t put in your mouth.” Here’s some of the latest products I’ve tried from California’s coolest herbalists, Marina Storm & Sarah Buscho.
Skin Stick $34 Boy, am I going to be missing this when it runs out. Packaged in an 100% compostable tube (love), this pretty floral face, lip and body balm is a definite “get this” for Winter. Why? Because you can throw it in your bag and use it for any dry patches on your face, to moisturize your lips (oh, it’s soooo smooth) or to just give you a pretty dewy look on your cheeks if you’re looking kinda…eh. Oh, and you can also just sniff it when you want to fall in love. A nice-sized tube at .7 oz, this will also last you!
Hydrate & Repair $68 This light floral balm uses the powers of Immortelle and Rose to hydrate the facial skin. Highly concentrated, you only need a little bit to give super, super moisture to dry skin. I might be crazy, but I feel like when I use this before bed, I actually feel like it plumps up my skin by morning. Now, perhaps that could just be that it is hydrating my skin so well, but I tell you, I’ve gone several times to re-check their site to make sure that’s not one of the benefits! I also like to carry this in my bag as it’s great for dry skin touch-ups that I sometimes need on my nose. If you like to wear makeup, then I suggest you apply this balm, let the skin absorb it for ten minutes and then apply your makeup. It makes skin look so dewy and healthy.
Toning Mist $58 Brand spankin’ new, I couldn’t wait to try out the Rose + Aloe Toner from ETF. With thee finest and purest ingredients like rose water, Aloe Vera juice and essential oil of Rosa Damascena, this toner hydrates the skin and preps it for your moisturizer. There’s nothing like spraying such pure ingredients onto your skin, making it more like a treatment than just a toner.
100% plant-based, food grade skincare tucked into reusable, recyclable or compostable packaging, created and made by two herbalists in the USA.
Nourish + Balance – Blue Chamomile + Carrot Seed $62 It’s rare that I get to completely finish a face oil sample I’m testing, but I finished this one. Why? Because I didn’t want to stop testing it. I’m a sucker for all things chamomile and I have to say that this smells heavenly. It’s so light and easy to spread and it works wonderfully after a spritz of their Rose + Aloe Toning Mist. Very light in feel, it packs a serious punch as I needed no other moi
Exfoliant Powder Mask $72 This mother of all masks is packaged in a big 8 fl oz. glass jar that works as good as it looks. I’ve learned that you don’t need much of this exfoliating and skin-healing mask to cover your whole face. Made from flowers grown in their own garden (ahh…) along with bentonite clay, carrot seed oil, gluten-free oats and lots and lots of flowers, this super gentle mask is great to refresh and soften the skin through a light exfoliation. Gentle enough to be used daily, it’s also great before a night out as it totally smooths and calms down the skin, allowing for gorgeous makeup application.
Dead Sea Salt Scrub $44 This isn’t your typical Sea Salt scrub. To me, this scrub is more of a treatment. What I like to do is wash off with one of my 50 soaps in my shower (slight exaggeration, but not much) and leave this scrub as the last thing I do as I want to keep the moisture from this on my skin. After I wash myself, I step away from the water, dry my hand and take a scoop of this and rub it all over my body. You’ll likely feel a slight sting if you’ve just shaved, but that’s the salt and honestly, I love the fact that it’s so pure. After, rinse and gently towel off. You’ll have refreshed, clean, smooth, hydrated skin.
Have you tried Earth Tu Face yet? If so, what have you tried and loved?
