Wanna get obsessed with a non-toxic lipstick line that also considers the environment in their packaging? Well, meet New Zealand based, Karen Murrell…
So, what’s the finish & wear of KM lipsticks?
First off, the colors are gorgeous. It’s so much fun to have some color instead of drab earth tones all of the time. With a slight hint of the prettiest mint, Karen Murrell’s lipsticks have a semi-matte finish, but aren’t the least bit drying. The color stayed on my lips like one would expect it to. These lipsticks aren’t sheer, they’ve got great pigment, but some are more subtle than others.
Summer Bouquet Colors
Like pink? Go for Camellia Morning, a true retro pink. Full coverage with serious pigment.
Like muted lavenders? Go for Lavender Laughter, a real pale lavender that’ll be great with a smokey eye. Gave me a 60s look.
Like bright? Get Poppy Passion, a darker pink that has a little red in it. This will give you that super pretty pop!
Like a soft melon? You’re going to love Peony Petal. It’s a gorgeous soft melon, but it’s full coverage.
Like neutrals and nudes? Orchid Bloom is a subtle nude with dusty pink undertones. Definitely more sheer than the others.
Environmental Packaging
If you read my blog, you know I’m a huge lover of anything eco. Seeing companies consider the environmental impact of their packaging into consideration is a big plus for me. This impressed me, big time: “Karen Murrell’s lipstick canisters are made from PLA (polylactic acid), a corn resin based material that will start to dissolve back into the earth within 100 days. It is also greenhouse gas neutral, helping minimise emissions that cause global warming.” Wonderful or what?
Also, the outer packaging is a 100% recyclable and renewable box made from New Zealand trees and printed with soya ink.
*Good news…Karen Murrell ships internationally!
