Ah, forbidden love…it just seems like some makeup items from different brands go so perfectly together, they were meant to be. Here’s some of my favorites that are always hooking up in my makeup bag…
I’ve been wearing Blossom Lady from Ilia Beauty along with Kjaer Weis’ Blossoming blush non-stop. A gorgeous combo that can be worn through the Fall as Blossoming has a pretty warmth to it and will give you a dewy, fresh cheek. I can tell you that this is such a pretty look for every day and if you’re not the type that loves to look like you’re wearing makeup, you’ll love this. If I want to go from day to night, I add some black liner and a little more mascara.
At a recent event in NYC, green beauty makeup artist, Rebecca Casicano was telling me about what she’s loving right now. Seduce was high on her list. Seduce is a sexy earthy brown with a shimmer that can be built upon. Go easy on application if you just want a light hint of brown. If you go heavier, you’ll get all that great shimmer that this eye polish has to offer. I love this with Linger, Ilia Beauty’s brand new cognac shimmer lip. Although very retro to look at here, these shades can give you a really unexpected modern look for Fall/Winter. If you love earthy tones, I think you would love this new take on them as these shimmers are very hot right now.
Vapour Organic Beauty’s Crush ($34) is a must-have. If you’re a girl who can sport a true pink, I say start here, sister. I love the smooth consistency of this cream blush, the dewy finish and how easy it is to apply and carry around. I also love it when it’s linked with Ilia Beauty’s Lip Crayon in Call Me. Honestly, they’re a match made in makeup heaven. The pinks compliment one another so well, it would be hard to separate these two. I also love how they’re both so easy to use…just a swipe of one, a swipe of the other and you’re done.
Oh, how I wish I was better at makeup, because if I were, I know that I could rock these two even better than I already do. RMS Beauty’s Karma ($28) is a gorgeous color. It’s a dark charcoal/brownish black with a silver streak to it. I’m sure that’s confusing, but when you see it, you’ll think I should be writing copy for makeup products (kidding). Honestly, it’s super pretty and, because I’m no Rose Marie Swift with makeup application, I stick to the basics. That means I put some Karma on a liner brush, sweep it across my upper eye line and blend it in. Then I take my W3ll People Hypnotist Eye Liner ($16.50) and run that baby right over on top of it. Super pretty and a stellar nighttime look.
Ilia Beauty’s Shellshock ($24) is a gorgeous pinkish/coral that I still can’t seem to truly define. I think it’s perfect for Spring/Summer and I’m always surprised when I put it on my lips. Hydrating, but not glossy, it’s a great lipstick especially when it’s hooking up with RMS Beauty’s Lip2Cheek in Smile ($36). Smile can be defined as a coral-ish color as well, but can be a bit pinkish when applied on the cheeks. I love, love these two together. If you want a fresh, bright look, go for this pair.
I’ve been kind of obsessed with Jane Iredale’s Sugar Plum PureGloss Lip Gloss ($24) for quite some time. I love the sheer hot pink, the scent of it (fruity) and the fact that it’s not runny or sticky. I think it’s the perfect formulation.
