Green beauty is fun, especially with all the new product releases. Here’s seven new items I’ve discovered and have taken quite a shine to.
Ilia Beauty
Ilia Beauty’s new Strike it Up is beyond striking. This is from their lipstick collection (as opposed to the Tinted Lip Conditioners) so it has a lot more pigment and coverage. A gorgeous blue-toned red, it’s perfect for delivering that rich red that’s just right – not too bright, not too orange. $26
Odacité
Beautiful Day Moisturizer I’ve only been recently introduced to this line and I have to say I’m really impressed. Everything I’ve tried (they’ll be more in future posts) has been really fresh and pure-feeling. Absolutely fantastic under makeup, this light day moisturizer has some really key ingredients like aloe vera, lavender, jojoba and olive oil and rosemary. It goes on so smooth, leaves my skin hydrated and feels soooo soft on the skin. I find myself wanting to apply it throughout the day because it’s so refreshing. If you’re in the market for a new day cream, I’m highly recommending this for $44. Not sure if you want to commit, but want to try the line? Try out their Discovery Kits with lots to test out! $29
Acure Organics
The new Aromatherapeutic (say that three times fast) Moroccan Argan Oil from Acure comes in three different scents: Citrus Ginger, Coconut and Rose. Made for all skin types, it’s just a matter of what scent you love. Me? I have to be honest, I’m favoring all three. Coconut will give you a genuine coconut scent…there’s nothing subtle about it. If you love coconut, you’ll be set. Citrus Ginger has, to me, the scent of orange peel. I love it. Rose, well, if you’re a big fan of it, this holds true to a real rose scent. Vegan, gluten-free and free of any synthetic fragrances, these oils are good for just about everything: as a face serum, body massage oil, hair serum, for hands and cuticles (I have one on my desk for my hands) and to take care of any dry skin. These oils are also rich in vitamin E, essential fatty acids and proteins and at $12.99, they’re really affordable!
Leaves of Trees
A deodorant that is scented with Lavender and Tangerine? Yep. Could you just die? Leaves of Trees deodorant is a gentle formula made with soothing ingredients like argan oil and cocoa seed butter. Although I had no irritation while using this, it does contain baking soda, so if you find yourself sensitive, just apply a little olive oil in the evenings on each underarm. This deo will be great for those of you who don’t over-sweat like I tend to. In fact, I gave my friend (who sweats like a normal person) 2 weeks worth of this to try out and he sent me a text telling me how it’s his new favorite. The packaging is beyond cool, great for travel, touch-ups and it also comes in Eucalyptus Mint. $15
Ingredients: Lavender Tangerine: Kaolin (clay), sodium bicarbonate, argania spinosa (argan) nut oil, theobroma cacao (cocoa) seed butter, emulsifying wax NF, cetyl alcohol NF, azadirachta indica (neem) oil, lavendula officianalis (lavender) oil, citrus reticulata blanco var tangerina (tangerine) oil, citrus grandis (grapefruit) seed extract and glycerin, tocopherol (vitamin E).
Organic Bath Co.
Zesty Morning Organic Bath Scrub I can’t just recommend one of these scrubs, because I’ve also tried several others and I have to say that they are EXACTLY what you’re looking for when you’re in the market for a scrub. What do I mean? Well, here’s what I look for: a great exfoliation, delicious scent, just enough oil to give me moisture, but not enough that I’m slipping in the shower and, lastly, that I don’t have to put on moisturizer when I’m done. This scrub will give you all of that. As they say on their site, it’s made with a “super-secret blend of incredibly moisturizing almond, apricot, sunflower and citrus oils.” I’m always so soft and smell so good after a shower with their scrubs. $27
W3ll People
W3ll People’s Nudist Lipshine Stick in Fig is just gorgeous and looks like a deep, wicked berry stain. The thing I love the most about these lip shines are the fact that they are buildable and, being a tinted lip balm, they also hydrate and are really easy to wear. In a pinch? Put a little on both cheeks as a blush! Gluten-free $19.50
Jane Iredale
Smell the Roses Hydration Spray A real sweetheart to meet, it’s no surprise that Jane Iredale created a product where 100% of profits from the sales are donated to Living Beyond Breast Cancer. Very cool. With the scent of roses, this hydration spray has been on my desk since I received it. I spritz it throughout the day and love the calming scent of rose and the way it hydrates and tones the skin. With the help of Rosa Damascena Flower Water, Radish Root Extract and Rosehips, this toner cares for the skin as it hydrates. Use it before moisturizer or just keep it in your bag or at your desk to feel refreshed or to set makeup. $29
