Fun things in green!
LAUREL WHOLE PLANT ORGANICS
California Body Oil I LOVE THIS! The color, the scent, the feel! I was really curious as to how Laurel would bottle up the scent of California and let me tell you, she’s spent some time out in the fresh air of the California woods! What will really surprise you is the deep amber color of this handcrafted body oil (so rich) and then the scent! I expected something bright and citrusy, but instead was standing there sniffing my arm saying, “Oh, my gosh, fresh cedar…the woods, the California outdoors! It is just heavenly and I’m now thinking this is the type of product that I’ll be using ONLY when I know I’m going to be sniffed as it’s that precious. Oh, and there are also gem essences added to encourage more self-love, self acceptance and connection to the Earth (you will get it when you breath this in). Plus, the ingredients are so nourishing and…organic! Shop here.
PAI SKINCARE
Pai’s Head To Toe Buriti Balm I want to say you need this for Fall/Winter, but I’ve been loving this throughout August. This little vegan buttery balm melts where applied, but never has that greasy feel. It really looks and feels like a thick butter. You can use this on lips, hands (nails – helps to keep manicures and pedicures alive), elbows, knees and feet. It might just be the best “throw in your bag” balm I’ve ever tried. I can’t say enough good things about this little guy. Get it for your bag AND your desk. Shop here.
Rice Plant and Rosemary BioAffinity Tonic Just the smell of this alone makes me happy! I had been hearing a lot of buzz about Pai’s toners due to the fact that they have what’s called “living waters” (extracted directly from the plant). They’re also rich in amino acids, vitamins, trace minerals and alcohol-free. Trust me on this one, you’ll love this toner. I’m on the drier side, but I imagine this would be great for all skin types to use before moisturizer or throughout the day to freshen up makeup. Shop here.
OSEA MALIBU’S ALGAE MASK
There’s three vegan Osea Algae Masks : the White Algae is for brightening, plumping and toning (great for mature skins or if you need a re-start) the Red Algae gives you this really cool tingle and it’s design
ed to purify congested skin (I also feel like this had a brightening effect on my skin, as well). The third mask is their Black Algae mask for normal/combo/oily skins and it has jojoba beads (as well as fig, pineapple, and pumpkin for enzymatic exfoliation) so you get this really effective (but subtle) exfoliation when you’re washing it off.
KOSAS TINTED FACE OIL
(Make sure to check out the deal below, too) I have been hearing so much about this product, but only from retailers, so I was really dying to try it out myself. What I can tell you? I can see this being my new base. Yep, I’m not joking. Kosas Tinted Face Oil goes on SO silky. It’s like velvet on the skin and there’s nothing oily about it at all. It has medium/light coverage (if you love a full coverage, you might want to slip this on top of your foundation or put it in spots where your skin is clear) and looks and feels as if you have put on the best primer and have flawless skin. I’m hooked. It’s really the best formulation and doesn’t leave your skin looking dry, cakey or oily, either. I would say the finish is a satin as opposed to a matte (which I never liked for foundation). I am using number 2, but I could see me getting a number 3 in the summer. The shades are great because they make a smooth transition. Get it here.
JADE CHI COMB FOR HEAD MASSAGE
So, as you know, there’s a whole jade obsession happening in green beauty and beyond right now. I have to say, it’s not just hype. I use my Ginger Chi Jade Face Mask and Jade Roller all of the time (I recommend keeping them in the fridge to combat redness and for an extra cooling-down of the skin). So, when Margot of The Choosy Chick told me about the new Jade Chi Comb, I was definitely interested in giving it a try. You know why? I’m finding that all of these little things I do actually do help to keep the tension out of my face (and now my head). They work. You can see people who hold a lot of tension in their head, neck and face – their brows are furrowed, their skin is often congested and they’ve got some premature wrinkling. Taking about 3/4 minutes out of the day to do any one of these three will make a difference. The comb comes with a little instruction booklet to teach you how to stimulate meridians for relaxation, fatigue and it’s also good for the hair (get the one with the oil). You’ll love working the base of your skull with this comb, too as holding cell phones creates a lot of tension in the neck area.
LEAHLANI SKINCARE – THE SCENTS
Bless Aromatherapy Essence How could you resist this gorgeous bottle filled with teal deliciousness? Many cannot. Here’s the new pure fragrance from Leahlani, Bless. If you love the scent of bright, fresh, energizing flowers, you will adore this. I can’t imagine someone could breathe this in and not feel their mood lift. Bless evokes feelings of harmony, happiness and an energizing positivity. You need very little of this…just a touch on your wrist (can even put some on your fingertips and run through your hair). The scent, unlike many pure fragrances, actually does last, too. Get it here.
Perfume Oils Looking for a natural fragrance to carry around in your bag, but aren’t looking to spend a fortune? Leah has also created four little perfume rollerballs that are excellent for boosting your mood, freshening up your scent mid-day at work or carrying with you for a night out. At $26 each, I think these are a great value. I have organic Pua Lei that smells like tropical flowers (addictive scent, seriously) and Kauai Orchid that smells like a mix between Gardenia and Orchids. I am seriously recommending this if you have a young woman/teenager in the house who is looking for her first fragrance. Breathing in synthetics is harmful…breathing in natural scent is uplifting!
